All about Crazy Blind Date
What is the purpose of Crazy Blind Date?
It's a place where you can coordinate a date on extremely short notice. Online dating sites are cool (we also run OkCupid.com), but sometimes you just want to go out immediately, with reckless abandon. We understand it's not for everyone, but it is for social, outgoing, and adventurous people.
How much does it cost?
Nothing! And there are no ads on Crazy Blind Date. We've just had this idea for a long time and wanted to do it.
How will I find my date?
When you agree to a date, you'll get to see a description of your match. If you still can't find each other amongst all the other nervous-looking people at that bar or coffee shop, quack like a dog and make armpit farts. If that doesn't work, you can send each other text messages through us. In the final 30 minutes before the date, we open a relay. If you send a text message to CUPID (28743) it will go to your date's phone. For example: "I'm at the bar in the back, wearing a blue sweater, drinking a martini."
So this is for real?
Yes, quite!
When do I officially commit to a date?
A date request is not a commitment. If we find someone for you, we'll show you a brief summary and a super blurry picture. At that point you have to say yes or no. A yes is binding.

What's with double dates?
Sometimes it's fun, especially for new users, to invite a friend and get assigned dates together. It's a good way to get started with the site, and it maximizes the probability of chemistry. Also, you can jump into double dates with all strangers. Imagine 4 people all meeting each other for the first time, like an hour from now? Social mayhem.
What if I meet my date and I'm not attracted to him/her?
Maybe you'll make great friends! You only have an obligation of 20 minutes, so get to know
them. Plus, after each date we get feedback about personality and attractiveness. What they have
to say about you determines a lot about your next date. Our matching system isn't public,
but in case this isn't obvious: if someone says you're extremely nice and attractive, it does wonders for getting
you assigned to other nice and attractive people.
The more dates you go on, the better each assignment is.
On my homescreen it asks me match questions. What are those?
From our work at OkCupid we have a database of over 200 million answers from over 1 million users. All the questions were submitted by OkCupid users who wanted to know the answers before going on a date. We ask them because we use your answers and your ideal match's answers as part of our blind date matching system. The more you answer, the better your matches. If you and someone else have both answered a lot, and you satisfied each other's ideals, we're more likely to pair you. Still, we do pair people who haven't answered any. So no promises!
How many match questions should I answer?
You don't have to answer any. But you must answer at least 0. Also, if you answer at least 50, matches will be significantly better. They're fun to answer, anyway, and you can skip ones you don't like.
Are dates safe?
No. You could have a heart attack from excitement and nervousness. Otherwise, they're as safe as meeting someone in public from any other dating site. We only assign dates in public, at venues you approve. Your going home with someone or switching venues is not something we arrange.
I want sex on short notice.
Don't we all...but that wasn't a question. Please be explicit in your date request about what you hope for from a date, but a date is not a promise of anything.
